1. Genesis 14:1  And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; (2) That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. (3) All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. (4) Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. (5)And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,  (6) And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.  (7) And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar. (8) And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; (9) With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. (10) And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. (11) And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. (12) And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

A. Genesis 14:13  And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. (14) And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. (15) And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.(16) And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

AND ABRAM WENT AFTER HIS BROTHER'S SON LOT, AND RESCUED HIM.
B. Genesis 14:17  And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale. (18) And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. (19) And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: (20) And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

THEN CAME MELCHIZEDEK - PRIEST OF THE MOST HIGH GOD
THE KING OF SALEM
BLESSED ABRAM - OF THE MOST HIGH GOD -
POSSESSOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH
WHO DELIVERED ABRAM'S ENEMIES INTO ABRAM'S HAND
AND ABRAM PAID TITHES OF ALL TO MELCHIZEDEK
THE KING OF SALEM (KING OF PEACE)
(1) Genesis 14:21  And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. (22) And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth. (23) That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: (24) Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

ABRAM LOOKING TO GOD ONLY FOR HIS PROVISION -
SO OUGHT YOU TO DO!
2. WHO IS MELCHIZEDEK?

A. Hebrews 5:1  For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: (2) Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

EVERY HIGH PRIEST IS TAKEN FROM AMONG MEN
IS ORDAINED FOR MEN IN THINGS PERTAINING TO GOD
THAT HE MAY OFFER BOTH GIFTS AND SACRIFICES FOR SINS
ARE YOU HEARING?
THAT HE CAN (CAN REASONABLY BEAR WITH)
HAVE COMPASSION ON THE IGNORANT
THAT HE CAN HAVE COMPASSION ON THEM THAT ARE OUT OF THE WAY
FOR THAT (BECAUSE THAT) HE HIMSELF ALSO IS COMPASSED WITH INFIRMITY
[(1) For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act in behalf of men in things relating to God, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. (2) He is able to exercise gentleness and forbearance toward the ignorant and erring, since he himself also is liable to moral weakness and physical infirmity. (3) And because of this he is obliged to offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people. (4) Besides, one does not appropiate for himself the honor of being high preist, but he is called by God and receives it of Him, just as Aaron did.]

(1) Hebrews 5:3  And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. (4) And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

ARE YOU HEARING?
B. Hebrews 5:5  So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. (6) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
  (1) Psalm 110:1  The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. (2) The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. (3) Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. (4) The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. (5) The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. (6)He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. (7) He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

ABOUT MELCHIZEDEK'S PRIESTHOOD - LIKE UNTO THAT
C. Hebrews 5:7  Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; (8) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (9) And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (10) Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. (11) Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

A SPIRITUAL TRUTH -
THINGS ARE HARD TO UTTER WHEN THE HEARERS ARE DULL!
D. Hebrews 5:12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. (13) For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  (14) But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (6:1)Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (3) And this will we do, if God permit. (4) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (5) And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (6) If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (7) For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:  (8) But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. (9) But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. (10) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (11) And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: (12) That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (13) For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, (14) Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. (15) And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (16) For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. (17) Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:  (18) That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (19) Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (20) Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

JESUS MADE AN HIGH PRIEST AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK
IS THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER.
E. Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (2) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (3) Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

MELCHIZEDEK
KING OF SALEM
PRIEST OF THE MOST HIGH GOD
TO WHOM ABRAHAM GAVE ALSO A TENTH
BEING BY INTERPRETATION KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
AND ALSO KING OF PEACE (OR KING OF SALEM)
WITHOUT FATHER, MOTHER, DESCENT
HAVING NEITHER BEGINNING OR END
MADE LIKE UNTO THE SON OF GOD - ABIDETH A PRIEST CONTINUALLY
F. Hebrews 7:4  Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. (5) And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: (6) But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. (7) And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. (8) And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

ONE WHO RECEIVES TITHES IS GREAT
HERE, HIS GREATNESS IS REASONED
BECAUSE THE SONS OF LEVI
WHO RECEIVE THE OFFICE OF PRIESTHOOD
HAVE COMMANDED TO TAKE TITHES FROM THE PEOPLE
ACCORDING TO THE LAW
THAT IS, OF THEIR BRETHREN
THOUGH THEY COME OUT OF THE LOINS OF ABRAHAM
BUT, HE WHOSE DESCENT IS NOT COUNTED FROM ABRAHAM -
NOT ABRAHAM'S CHILD
MECHIZEDEK RECEIVED TITHES OF ABRAHAM
AND BLESSED HIM THAT HAD THE PROMISES
AND WITHOUT ALL CONTRADICTION -
THE LESSER IS BLESSED OF THE GREATER
AND HERE, MEN THAT RECEIVE TITHES, DIE (THE SONS OF AARON)
BUT THERE, MELCHIZEDEK, WHOM IT IS WITNESSED, LIVES

G. Hebrews 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. (10) For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

ALSO, LEVI PAYED TO MELCHIZEDEK
IN THE LOINS OF HIS FATHER ABRAHAM.
H. Hebrews 7:11  If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? (12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. (13) For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. (14) For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

IF THEREFORE PERFECTION WERE BY THE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD,
WHY WOULD THERE BE A NEED FOR ANOTHER PRIEST
TO ARISE AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK,
AND NOT BE CALLED AFTER THE ORDER OF AARON?
FOR THE PRIESTHOOD BEING CHANGED,
THERE IS OF NECESSITY A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW.
(OBVIOUSLY, SINCE JESUS CHRIST CAME FROM JUDAH
AND NOT FROM AARON
OF WHICH TRIBE MOSES SPAKE NOTHING CONCERNING PRIESTHOOD
OBVIOUSLY A NEW PRIESTHOOD)
I. Hebrews 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, (16) Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (17) For he testifieth,Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (18) For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. (19) For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

THE LAW MADE NOTHING PERFECT -
BUT THE BRINGING IN OF A BETTER HOPE DID
BY WHICH WE DRAW NIGH TO GOD.
J. Hebrews 7:20  And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: (21) (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. . .

PRAISE THE LORD!
